Muay Thai (“Thai Boxing”)
The basis for the Warrior Fighting Sports & Fitness Kickboxing program is the 700 year old national sport of Thailand, the powerful, yet beautiful, art of Muay Thai ("Thai Boxing").
Not only is Muay Thai considered one of the most effective combat sports in the world, it also provides it's students with a very safe, but exhausting workout like no other. Muay Thai incorporates the use of feet, fists, shins, knees and elbows, combined in multifaceted combinations that produce fantastic results.
Properly done, the powerful Muay Thai style shin kick asks its user (you) to twist, pivot, turn and rotate various parts of your entire body. Our expert instructors know how to break each step down in specific detail that makes it easy for the beginner student to learn. You'll sweat like you never have before after taking one of our exhilarating Muay Thai workout. This is the same workout the Pro and Amateur Kickboxers go through, now you can too. This is a hard core workout…be ready to make contact and spar. The first workout is on us so why not give it a try?
Kickboxing
Kickboxing is a sport that will allow you to become "fighting fit". This is not cardio kickboxing. This is a real kickboxer's workout minus the contact and sparring. You will have your hands wrapped, you will learn the punch and kick combinations using focus pads and kicking shields, and with a partner, you will learn the drills to complete a kickboxing workout. We will work your abs and drive your cardio into high gear taking you where you never thought you could go!
All the skills in the world are no good if you do not have cardiovascular fitness enabling you to execute your new skills, so cardio is a big part of our workout. In a typical class we do a cardio warm-up followed by stretching then some work on technique and then we go into one of our many pad work drills with a partner where you will get an enjoyable but intense work out, while honing your fundamental skills. You will learn the correct stance, footwork and breathing techniques, along with all the fundamentals, in a friendly, team orientated atmosphere, where everyone assists each other to reach their goals. Your goal might be a new angle on fitness or to learn a new skill or to compete on our popular competitive circuit. Whatever your goal, we will get you there, with emphasis on respect, sportsmanship, discipline and FUN!! |
